Thermal insulated transport box suitable for the shipment of blood plasma and platelets. Platelets are more temperature critical than whole blood with a shorter timeline, so the bag has been designed with an extra internal cushion and an in-built Phase Change Material (PCM). The platelet bag, with its extra cushioning and PCM, stabilises this processed blood derivative at a temperature between +20°C and +24°C for up to 5 hours. The bag can withstand ambient temperatures of between -5°C and +35°C. This new innovative system does away with the old traditional use of heavy eutectic plates and why it has been favoured by the NHS. Independently tested and validated to EU guidelines by the UK National Health Service. Will keep blood at critical temperature for 12+ hours. No need for coolants. Self inflating internal cushion.
